Social Bookmarks for WordPress.com

15 May

how to add retweet button wordpress.comYup. That is what they call it.  Social bookmarking is “a method for Internet users to share, organize, search, and manage bookmarks of web resources”. With my previous post, i have insisted to hack  a way and share you post online by using a redirect links for a photo.

Making your own way is really a rewarding thing. Though i have asserted using my RE-DIRECT LINKS , i am not recommending it to you.

After more google search, i have finally found great posts that allows Social Bookmarking for wordpress.com. This time, no more uploading photos and changing links, just Ctrl C and Ctrl V.

Take away the L-sign away and it’s  now three middle fingers raised.
I have personally chosen top three Social Bookmarking sites you can use for your wordpress.com blog

1. GetSociallive

Like This!

Add to Google BuzzThe cool thing about GetSocialLive aside from having user-friendly interface, after typing the name and url,  you can now select from 7 different styles(Classic, Mini, Design, Design Mini, Text Links, Google Buzz & Facebook Like) that would fit your theme, preference and need. I used the ‘Design‘ style. ‘  You can also select ‘Text Links‘ if you don’t want icons. It features a like button and a google buzz separately. It provides fixed bookmarks to 10 social websites.

2. Perlitalabs
Add to FaceBookAdd to Twitter
Periltalabs has a very plain website interface with no ads. Among all my choices, only Perlitalabs provide checkboxes for you to choose your needed bookmarks out of the 10 sites given.  With the textboxes, you can always focus on what sites you only want sharing. It has only one design and size can be modified to Small, Medium and Large. I am currently using the ‘Large‘ size for facebook and twitter bookmark.

3. Addthis

For AddThis, sharing files  include four  (4) easy  steps. 1. Selecting your Service (wordpress) 2. Selecting a button style(1 &2 will work) 3. set Analytics settings (No)  4. Clicking that over sized orange ‘Get your Button‘ button.  widgets

Unlike the sites mentioned above, Addthis requires registration to provide analytics for  monitoring your bookmarks. Selecting a social site out of the 150+ given lists takes time but gives more opportunities of sharing.
Voila! You are now really one of the elite wordpress.com users who have Social Bookmarks. Combining the tree site is not a bad thing. Let your brain cells function. Think.   Expect more traffic from now on.
It seems that we did not just optimize limitations. We  surpassed it.
